My Story

Experiencing two hurricanes deeply shaped my outlook on environmental issues. One storm shattered a window in my hometown, while another struck during my stay in Houston, leaving the house without power and water for a week. I had to adapt by showering every other day, highlighting the daily challenges caused by extreme weather. The most heartbreaking moment came when I visited the beach after the hurricane, only to find it covered in piles of trash swept in by the storm from the depths of the sea. As someone who enjoys fishing, I’ve witnessed firsthand how pollution impacts marine life and disrupts the delicate balance of our waters. This personal connection to the ocean has heightened my concern about the increasing severity of extreme weather events and the future challenges humanity may face. It reinforced my belief that more must be done to protect our oceans and reduce plastic usage, with the ultimate goal of restoring our fragile marine ecosystems for a better future.
